Sarah Knuth's journey to become a teacher began with a basketball scholarship at Oakland University where she studied journalism and English. She later transferred to Central Michigan University where she earned a degree in secondary education majoring in English and minoring in journalism.
Sarah took the scenic route to finding a teaching job spending ten years at various jobs such as being a home manager for developmentally disabled individuals and an office manager. She began coaching girls basketball at North Muskegon High School and eventually landed a language arts teaching position there. Sarah currently teaches 8th grade language arts and leadership classes at North Muskegon Middle School and feels she has found her niche.
Sarah has a love/hate relationship with writing. She feels very drawn to writing but doesn't feel like she has the time to write. When she can write she enjoys personal letter writing to her sister, writing about personal experiences, and about her different travels. She also enjoys journal writing. Some of her favorite authors are Nikki Giovanni and John Muir. She enjoys reading poetry and narrative travel writing.
