Lisa began her educational career at MCC where she received her AS in Science. She then earned her BA in Special Education and English from Eastern Michigan University She also completed her Masters in Career/Tech Education from Western Michigan University. She presently lives in Montague, Michigan and teaches mostly freshmen at Montague High School.
Her early writing experiences included writing journals and trashy novels. Everyone but her mother loved reading them. She would like to write a historical or realistic fiction novel of her own someday. She is actively seeking a way to get her students excited about writing without the initial negative attitude.
Her writing mentors are Kurt Vonnegut and Barbara Kingsolver. She does not enjoy reading fantasy and science fiction books, but likes to read realistic and historical fiction.
